Annual Reports

The College Music Society calls for annual reports in the fall of the year from members of the Board of Directors, Chairs of Committees, and General Editors.  An annual report is requested on behalf of each area of representation, committee, or initiative.

Requested is a report of 750 to 1,500 words, that is concise, and that conveys what has been accomplished, what is currently being considered, plans for the coming year, and how the membership can be involved. The deadline for the report is January 15.

The report is used in two ways. First, it is part of the Society’s Annual Report, which is published on the CMS Web site in early February. Second, it  receives careful consideration by the Board of Directors at its spring meetings as it reviews the Society’s activities and progress.  Reflections, received opinions, assessments, and suggestions for the Board’s consideration only may be included as an addendum to the report.

Written reports are important to insuring good communications with the CMS membership and the general public, and efficient meetings of the Board of Directors. Please submit reports in MS Word .doc format by January 15 to Robby D. Gunstream, Executive Director of CMS, at <This email address is being protected from spambots. The work of Board of Directors, Chairs of Committees, General Editors, and Editors is the generating force for much of what the Society accomplishes. The reports provide an important basis for discussions concerning the future of the organization.
